Book Review: Intangible by J. Meyers

MY REVIEW

I received Intangible from the author, J. Meyers, a long while back. After reading it, I seriously regret not being able to get to it sooner. Intangible is so full of unexpected characters, and situations, which is unusual with a book about a psychic. There are many alternating viewpoints throughout the book, I cannot remember off the top of my head how many, but I want to say it is around five. This may be confusing to some readers, but it was not an issue for me. I actually prefer books with alternating viewpoints, simply because it creates a complex and more rounded story.

The two main characters are twin siblings, Sera short for Seraphina, and Luke Raines. They may appear to be normal, but Sera can heal people both from physical and emotional injures or problems. Luke possess his own power too, he can see the future. The story starts out with Luke have a vision of his sister, Sera’s death. Luke is determined to change the future and his vision, even if in all his experience it has never happened. From there the events of the story begin to unfold.

I was delighted in all of little surprises I got while reading, including some not so human characters. Since I want everyone to be delighted with the surprises, and I try to keep my reviews as spoiler free as possible they will stay a secret. There is a lot of mythology, and stage building in the book, but it does not drag down the pace of the story at all. It contributes to setting up the book and giving you glimpses into the world of this series for future installments.

It is not very often anymore, that I take true delight into twists and turns that I did not see coming. Intangible got me on a number of occasions, much to my enjoyment. I really enjoyed the characters, especially the relationship between Luke and Sera. I also love the way that Sera had this need to help people, even if it put herself in danger. I know one thing is for sure, I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in this series! This book is well worth every single penny.
