Hidden in Plain Sight Cover Reveal

Hidden in Plain Sight by Karen Ann Hopkins
Serenity's Plain Secrets #4
Expected Publication: March 2016
Genres: Adult, Mystery
When a cold case heats up, Serenity won’t stop until she discovers the truth.

In the fourth installment of the bestselling Serenity’s Plain Secrets’ series, Serenity must work with US marshals to uncover the truth behind a shockingly brutal fifteen-year-cold murder.

Desperate for answers, Serenity finds herself in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where she unravels secrets that threaten to tear her and Daniel apart. But digging up the past is dangerous, and the quaint Amish settlement isn’t as safe as it seems.

If Serenity chooses to trust the man she’s come to love, it could mean a happily ever after… or her final act.

About the Author
A native of New York State, Karen Ann Hopkins now lives with her family on a farm in northern Kentucky, where her neighbors in all directions are members of a strict Amish community. Her unique perspective became the inspiration for the story of star-crossed lovers Rose and Noah. When she’s not homeschooling her kids, giving riding lessons or tending to a menagerie of horses, goats, peacocks, chickens, ducks, rabbits, dogs and cats, she is dreaming up her next romantic novel.

My Thoughts:  I love the Serenity's Plain Secrets series, and I cannot wait for the next installment! The cover is beautiful and I am so excited!

An Immortal's Song by Carrie Ann Ryan
Dante's Circle #6
Expected Publication: April 5, 2016
Pre-Order: Amazon | iBooks | Barnes and Noble
Genres: Fantasy, Paranormal, Adult
Humans aren’t as alone as they choose to believe. Every human possesses a trait of supernatural that lays dormant within their genetic make-up. Centuries of diluting and breeding have allowed humans to think they are alone and untouched by magic. But what happens when something changes?
Amara Young has always been on the outside looking in. She’s the one lightning-struck woman out of her group who has never felt as if she’s belonged. She lost a year of her life caring for her dying friend, but now it’s her turn to find out who she is. Only when the time comes, two men stand in her way—two men who claim her as theirs.
Tristan Archer, fae royalty and Conclave member, has waited over nine hundred years for his fate. And now he has two chances. While one knows his path, the other seems blind to what they could have. It will take more than a simple risk for Tristan to finally have what he desires…that is if Amara and Seth can overcome their own uncertainties.
While the other two in his life are fighting themselves and their futures, Seth Oceanus knows exactly what he wants. The younger brother of a Conclave member and relatively young in his realm, he knows he’ll have to prove himself so others see him for who he truly is.
As the triad succumbs to their cravings, they will have to fight more than their overwhelming feelings in order to survive.
Warning: Contains an innocent merman, a very talented fae, and a human woman who can outpace them both.

 About the Author

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan never thought she’d be a
writer. Not really. No, she loved math and science and even went on to graduate school in chemistry. Yes, she read as a kid and devoured teen fiction and Harry Potter, but it wasn’t until someone handed her a romance book in her late teens that she realized that there was something out there just for her. When another author suggested she use the voices in her head for good and not evil, The Redwood Pack and all her other stories were born.
Carrie Ann is a bestselling author of over twenty novels and novellas and has so much more on her mind (and on her spreadsheets *grins*) that she isn’t planning on giving up her dream anytime soon.

It's Friday night in New Orleans and Tim "Romeo" Voiter has the night off. A night of rest and relaxation is something new for the former Marine, and he's looking forward to enjoying a fun night out with his buddy, Lucas Martinez.  The two men try to ignore the emergency broadcasts and news about the spreading iKPV virus and just enjoy the evening. Romeo, true to his name, even hooks up with a hot redhead and plans on ending the evening at her place.
Plans come crashing down, though, as he comes face to face with what the iKPV infected really looks like–and it is not like any infection he's encountered before.  Knowing the media is sugarcoating the virus and things are about to get a lot worse in his city, Romeo talks his family into leaving their urban home and bugging out to a more secluded and secure area; the compound his employers own at the edge of the city, deep in the marsh that surrounds New Orleans. But, as the infection spreads and New Orleans begins to fall under the chaos of victims gone made with the virus, Romeo begins to realize that the "stuff" has hit the fan in New Orleans and things will never be the same for the Voiters.

My Review of Lady MacBeth
*Notice: This is an adult story meant for readers 18 and over*

Witchcraft, vengeance, and love that is my type of Fantasy story, and Lady MacBeth covers all the bases. I love the beauty of the magic featured in Lady MacBeth, and this first installment is actually quite innocent compared to the original tragedy written by Shakespeare. Even though I have never read MacBeth, I still know the general story, and Lady MacBeth is much like a prequel to Shakespeare version but with unique elements crafted by the author, Melanie Karsak. In the original play, Lady MacBeth is very unlikeable character, but in Lady Macbeth: Daughter of the Ravens, I could not help but adore her and root for her as her story begins.

I am curious to see how Melanie Karsak adds to the story with the next installment in the Daughter of the Ravens series. Is she going to stray from the original story, or take the original and give it a spin in her own way. Corbie, the future Lady MacBeth, is just discovering herself and her magical ancestry. I love watching her go from scared teenager to a woman who except her power. I also love seeing her discover her past lives and those that she has loved in past lives, and rekindle her love for Banquo.

I became a fan of Melanie Karsak’s after her zombie novel, The Harvesting, which I loved immensely. I knew I had to try her new take on MacBeth, even if I had not read the play before, due to her talent for sucking readers in with her stories. Lady MacBeth is no exception, I found myself sucked in, and unable to put the story down no matter what interruptions tried to steal my attention. This is not always the case when I read, but the way Melanie Karsak writes this story, I just had to finish it and find out what happens to Corbie.

I cannot wait to see what happens in the next installment of The Saga of Lady Macbeth, because the almost cliffhanger way the story is left. I have to know what is in store for Corbie, and I know the next book is one that I am going to by hanging on a thread as I read.

Haunted Savannah

Ellie Jordan, the lead character in my new series, has a fairly interesting job—she works for a small private detective agency that specializes in capturing and removing unwanted ghosts.

I knew the setting of the series would be important, and it was fun to consider where a ghost-catching agency might be most profitably located.  An old city would be best, but there aren’t many of those in the United States.  In fact, by the standards of most of the world, we don’t have any truly old cities here, nothing as ancient as Paris, Rome, or Jerusalem.

The oldest cities are generally located along the East Coast.  I considered Boston and New York, but I’ve never even been to those cities—and besides, the Ghostbusters have pretty well staked out New York City as their territory.

The obvious choice for me was Savannah, Georgia, a city much closer to me, and one I’ve visited a few times (and look forward to visiting again in the future).  I knew I was lucky to have it close by; it’s not just old, but characterized by beautiful architecture dating back to the colonial era.  The downtown is made of up twenty-two squares, each with a small park surrounded by old mansions and other buildings in every conceivable architectural style.  It’s almost dreamlike to walk through the city surrounded by gardens, wrought iron, marble columns, fountains, and statues.  Beautiful, old, and not far away—a perfect setting for the new ghost series!

As I turned out during, I was luckier than I knew.  I’ve read again and again that seventy percent of the buildings in Savannah’s downtown are said to be haunted.  I have no idea where this figure came from, but it sounds like a lot.  The city isn’t just haunted because it’s old.

Do you remember how that house in Poltergeist was built on top of an old cemetery?  The entire city of Savannah is like that.  Countless graveyards have been paved over as the city expanded over the centuries.  Unmarked graves lie beneath the streets and the beautiful antique mansions.

The only thing more conducive to a haunting would be if the city were also built on top of old Native American burial grounds.  It turns out that’s the case, too.

No wonder they say the city is teeming with ghosts.  I think it’s going to be a fun place to spend the series.
