Waiting on Wednesday: Storm

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we cannot wait to get our hands on.

 I am waiting on:

Title: Storm
Author: Alyssa Rose Ivy
Series: The Empire Chronicles #5
Publication Date: December 3,2015
Genre: New Adult, Paranormal,
Underneath our greatest flaws lie our greatest strengths.
Jared barely has time to process the revelation that his mother is a witch before his life is once again turned upside down. He wakes up in a time and place he thought he had left behind with no clue how to get out. When Vera shows up the stakes are even higher.
Racing to find a way back to reality and to fix mistakes, both must face new truths about their identities, and what they are made of.
Why am I waiting?
Simple answer...because Alyssa Rose Ivy wrote it. The long answer is that her shifter series are among my favorite of her books and I cannot wait to read the final installment in Jared's story. I also think this one maybe a game changer for the whole series!

What are you waiting on?

Racing against the clock, all four must face their greatest fears to save The Society and all the people they love.

 About the Author
Alyssa Rose Ivy is a New Adult and Young Adult author who loves to weave stories with romance
and
a southern setting. Although raised in the New York area, she fell in love with the South after moving to New Orleans for college. After years as a perpetual student, she turned back to her creative side and decided to write. She lives in North Carolina with her husband and two young children, and she can usually be found with a cup of coffee in her hand.

My Thoughts: I have been dying to read this one, the cliffhanger at the end of Search had me needing Stay right now, but sadly I have to wait a little longer. I love the cover especially the wings, just perfect. I know this book is going to be action packed from the beginning, and the wait is going to be nearly unbearable!

Cover Reveal: Midnight Kiss

Midnight Kiss: Four New Adult Paranormal Romance
Alyssa Rose Ivy, Jennifer Snyder, Juliana Haygert, Sarra Cannon
Expected Publication: October 1, 2014
Cover Design by Once Upon a Time Covers
Genres: New Adult, Paranormal Romance
PREORDER: Kobo| iBooks | Google Play
This Halloween, prepare to be haunted by a kiss…
Midnight Kiss is a limited edition collection of four BRAND NEW, NEVER RELEASED novellas, all set in New Orleans on Halloween night.
AFTER MIDNIGHT by Sarra Cannon
From the outside, Becca Goldberg looks like any normal freshman girl at Tulane, but she’s been keeping a terrible secret. She’s really Allison Moore—a young witch from Peachville hiding out from an evil coven of witches known as the Order of Shadows. She thinks she is safe until an unexpected accident occurs. Now, she only has until midnight on Halloween until her identity is discovered.
She must turn to the hottest, most elusive guy on campus for help. Will he help save her? Or will her life come crashing down around her after midnight?
THE MIDNIGHT TEST by Juliana Haygert
Being the weakest witch of her generation, nineteen-year-old Hazel is convinced she's supposed to live a normal, human life—except for the occasional ghost hunting. When Hazel moves to New Orleans, the most powerful witch coven in the world grants her a chance to join them, but only if she passes a dangerous test on Halloween night. Everything is going fine until mysterious Sean steps in Hazel’s way, putting her entire test at risk.
Will she be able to ace the test and keep them both alive at the same time?
SEDUCTION'S KISS by Alyssa Rose Ivy
Never agree to a road trip to New Orleans with your roommate. At least not when your roommate is dragging you along while she reconnects with an ex boyfriend. Possible consequences of failing to take my advice:
1) Unknowingly going out with a vampire stripper.
2) Getting kidnapped by said vampire’s nest mates.
3) Falling head over heels for your winged hero.
Believe it or not number 3 is the worst one, especially when no one believes you that he exists.
KISS OF AWAKENING by Jennifer Snyder
With one kiss, everything will change...
When a mysterious letter arrives from her estranged mother, twenty-one year old Kenna Blake and her best friend, Bree, make a trip to New Orleans hoping for a little Halloween fun and to get away. The mystifying Crescent City has something else in store for her though.
Cryptic messages, a hot tour guide, and a new sense Kenna can't seem to explain are just the beginning of this eye opening trip. Will Kenna accept what awakens with in her or will she crumble under its reality?

My Thoughts: I will admit the main reason I want to read this set is of course, Seduction's Kiss by Alyssa Rose Ivy. As I read the synopsis for all four novellas, I cannot wait to read them all. This is the perfect set of stories to get me into the Halloween spirit!!

Book Review: Search

About the Book
Search (The Empire Chronicles, #2)
Title: Search
Author: Alyssa Rose Ivy
Series: The Empire Chronicles #2
Publication Date: April 17, 2014
Genres: New Adult, Paranormal,
Casey isn't human. The revelation should terrify her, but it doesn't. Instead it excites her. Too bad not everyone is as excited as she is.
Torn between two lives, the only one she's ever known and her life as a paranormal princess, Casey has to decide whether she can trust the man she loves.
Sometimes being a princess isn't all it's cracked up to be.

My Review of Search
(**may contain spoilers from previous books**)
Search takes so many surprising turns, and Alyssa Rose Ivy really does not pull punches when it comes to keeping readers on their toes. Casey’s acceptance of her new found abilities and her new family is not something that comes easy. Casey is rather forced upon to come to New Orleans and accept her places as a Royal Pteron. While she wants to get to know her father’s family, she is also terrified which is completely normal.

Casey is insecure and uncomfortable around her new family at the beginning of Search. By the end, I think Casey has accepted her new life and her relationship with Toby. Although I was rooting for Jared to find a real relationship with someone, I think sweet Toby is a much better love interest. He does not seemed bother by politics and follows his heart.

A few twists and secrets revealed in Search that left my jaw hanging open. Then the cliffhanger at the end had me desperately craving the next book as soon as possible. I will have to say even though I absolutely loved Soar; Search is my favorite Empire Chronicles book yet. It may even be my favorite over the Crescent Chronicles too.

As I say every time I read another Alyssa Rose Ivy novel, Alyssa can do no wrong when it comes to telling a story. She always manages to make it addicting and unique. I cannot wait for Stay and see her work her magic again. If you haven’t read any of her Pteron novels, I have to say you are defiantly missing out.

About the Author

Addison Moore is a New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author who writes
contemporary and paranormal romance. Her work has been featured in Cosmopolitan magazine. Previously she worked for nearly a decade as a therapist on a locked psychiatric unit. She resides with her husband, four wonderful children, and two dogs on the West Coast where she eats too much chocolate and stays up way too late. When she's not writing, she's reading.

1. How did you choose Angels as the subject for the Celestra series?
I have a huge fascination with all things paranormal but I seem to romanticize angels above them all so it felt like a natural fit for me to delve into the subject. I've had a blast ever since!

2. If you had to go back and do it all over, is there any aspect of Ethereal or the Celestra series you would change?
I think I might have made the chapters a lot longer. I was experimenting with short one-sitting chapters and thought I would give it a go. I don't think it's a problem other than in the formatting of the book. From that aspect it would have been a lot easier to have thirteen or fourteen chapters as opposed to one hundred.

3. What was your favorite chapter (or part) of Ethereal to write and why?
The prologue and the final page. The prologue because Skyla's narrative was so lyrical. And the end because... well, you'll just have to read it and find out. ;)

4.  Is there any particular author or book that influenced you in any way, either growing up or as an adult?
I must have read The Bell Jar a million times. Sylvia Plath had a writing style like no other.

5. Are there certain characters you would like to go back to, or is there a theme or idea you’d love to work with?
I don't think so only in that I'm still with those characters and everything still feels so fluid. I really enjoy writing the new series, Celestra Forever After and I'm not sure I want to stop.

6. What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author? What has been the best compliment?
I don't read reviews anymore. I used to and then I'd take them all to heart until someone very wise pointed out those are simply peoples opinions. Everyone has one, sort of like a belly button. A light went off, and I thought why torment myself?
Instead, I have my husband vet them, and he'll read me the good reviews on occasions. Especially if it's special in some way. I really enjoy those!

7. What do you do when you are not writing?
I'm thinking of my characters and plotting out my next book. I can't help it. My imagination has always been on overdrive.  It simply never shuts off. And trust me, I really don't mind!

Thank you so much for hosting me! Happy reading to one and all!

Cover Reveal: Captivate Me

Captivate Me by S.J. Pierce
Expected Publication: April 1, 2014
 Cover Design by Brittany Bowman
Genres: Young Adult, Paranormal Romance
“My mom had always told me – when you meet “the one”, you’ll know; they’ll captivate your heart the moment you lay eyes on them. I had always wondered, though, if my mom’s words of wisdom were finite – if they applied to everyone. Maybe those who had found their one great love were the lucky few, and maybe the rest of us would have to settle for less than earth-shattering.”
Seventeen-year-old Kat Walsh is a Gifted – a human with paranormal abilities. With her mom a former Angel and her dad a dream prophet, it’s always been in her genetic make-up to be extraordinary. Unfortunately for her, the world can’t handle the strange or unusual. So when she slips up and uses her powers at her high school in Ireland, the entire student body treats her like a freak – even the ones she thought were her closest friends.
Broken, but hopeful for a fresh start, she allows her parents to enroll her in a boarding school buried deep within the forests of a small Colorado town. At Midland Pines, School for the Gifted, she feels as though she can finally be herself; she makes new friends and even has the attention of the most popular guy in school – Levi. Everything feels normal again… or does it?
Not long after her arrival, weird dreams of an alluring boy whom she’s never met surface during the night, and the eerie, shadowy trees encircling their school seem to call to her. As these disturbing, yet enticing developments intensify, other bizarre occurrences happen – students and staff turn up missing, and mystery visitors leave gifts while she sleeps. With all of these other things vying for her attention, a desperate Levi has to fight even harder to keep her interest. But with the dreams of the attractive boy slowly captivating her heart, Kat has to make a choice – will she settle for ‘great’ Levi, or will she search for her elusive dream visitor, possibly stumbling across ‘amazing?’
From the author of the Alyx Rayer Chronicles, comes a refreshingly different Young Adult series with plenty of love, suspense, and a new take on the Paranormal.
Recommended for readers 16 and up due to mature content.

 About the Author
Susan James Pierce has a degree in Marketing Management, works for a Fortune 500 company in Atlanta, Georgia, and devotes her precious, spare time to writing Fantasy and Sci-fi novels.

Even though her full-time career has nothing to do with books at all, she has always enjoyed complex storytelling with fascinating characters, and has had a penchant for the written word since grade school. As a matter of fact, her first publishing credit was a poem she wrote at the age of twelve. Why her love for writing never translated into a career, she can only attribute to 'life happens', but her wish is that she can redirect her career path into something that satisfies her creative inner-self.
