Death to the Undead by Pembroke Sinclair
Life After the Undead #2

Expected Publication: February 16, 2016
 Cover Design by Simanson Designs
Genres: Young Adult, Zombies, Post-Apocalyptic
The battle that began in Life After the Undead continues.
Zombies changed her life completely…
Tough teenager Krista escaped to the safety of Florida after her parents were killed by the zombie horde. She united with General Liet, a distant cousin, and moved with him to North Platte to help build a wall to keep the zombies in the West. Krista fell in love with Quinn, a survivor and fighter from the zombie-infested wildlands of the West, and together they freed the garrison at North Platte from the power-hungry Liet.
But zombies aren’t the only enemy they have to face…
Now, North Platte is free, but Liet was not the only one using the zombie apocalypse to control their people. Florida is ruled by five ruthless Families, who use intimidation and the threat of the zombie horde to coerce their populace. Krista and Quinn hatch a desperate plan to run guns into the state and help the people revolt. Krista and Quinn, labeled as rebels run for their lives when the Families attack North Platte. The Families want them captured, the zombies want to eat them, and other survivors want them dead. Caught in between powerful forces, they must survive long enough to devise a new plan and put it into action, all while trying to solidify their new relationship and trying not to self-destruct in the meantime.

 About the Author
Pembroke Sinclair is a literary jack of all trades, playing her hand at multiple genres. She has written
an eclectic mix of fiction ranging from horror to sci-fi and even some westerns. Born in Rock Springs, Wyoming--the home of 56 nationalities--it is no wonder Pembroke ended up so creatively diverse. Her fascination with the notions of good and evil, demons and angels, and how the lines blur have inspired her writing. Pembroke lives in Laramie, Wyoming, with her husband, two spirited boys, a black lab named Ryder, and a rescue kitty named Alia, who happens to be the sweetest, most adorable kitty in the world! She cannot say no to dessert, orange soda, or cinnamon. She loves rats and tatts and rock and roll and wants to be an alien queen when she grows up.

Book Review: Age of Blood

About the Book
Title: Age of Blood
Author: Shauna Granger
Series: Ash and Ruin #3
Publication Date: May 5, 2015
Genres: Young Adult, Post Apocalyptic,
Hope is a dangerous thing, but powerful. Hope keeps you going. Hope can keep you alive.
But hope can shatter your world.
Kat and Dylan have found a home, but the monsters are still out there. The pox and plague still ravage the world. They have hope of finding a vaccine, but their encampment isn't equipped to develop it.
Dylan is still too weak from the pox to leave the encampment, so Kat must decide between staying by his side and protecting her last remaining family member as he leaves to find supplies. Separated for the first time since they came together, Kat and Dylan will have to fight their own battles to save what is left of their bloody world.
Kat will have to hold on to hope that she has anything left to save and someone to come home to. If she can survive.

 About the Author
Like so many other writers, Shauna grew up as an avid reader, but it was in high school that she
realized she wanted to be a writer. Five years ago, Shauna started work on her Elemental Series. She released the first installment, Earth, on May 1, 2011 and has since released four sequels, with the series coming to an end with Spirit. She is currently hard at work on a new Urban Fantasy series, staring a spunky witch with a smush-faced cat named Artemis.

My Review of Age of Blood
I cannot believe the world of Ash and Ruin is over. I loved the take on post-apocalyptic Shauna Granger, takes in this series. The Pesta spreading disease and death were ever they go. Even within the safety of the compound, Kat and Dylan may not be safe. Kat risks everything to go get supplies and tools that may give the remaining humans a fighting chance against the Pox and Pestas. Everything I loved about this series continued in Age of Blood, and there were defiantly some satisfying conclusions to Kat’s story throughout the novel.

The Pestas were one of my favorite parts of this entire series, because they are terrifying. I do have to say they take a decreased presence in this novel, but they are still chilling in presence and in the connection they have of the almost decimation of the human species. To make matters worse, Kat and Dylan are separated for much of the story, and it is told from Kat’s point of view. This leaves readers wondering the fate of Dylan until the very end of the book, which adds to its intensity.

Watching Kat grow and change over this series was a highlight of the story, but in this installment, Kat was on top of her game. She would do anything to protect those that she loves, and that really shines through in Age of Blood. This book in not without it tragedy and loss, but the post-apocalyptic world would not feel realistic without dangers and death. Shauna Granger handles all elements with a finesse and power that had me continually turning page without putting the book down.

While I am sad to see this trilogy end, I have to say that it is handled perfectly by Shauna Granger. From the beginning to the end, Age of Blood and the Ash and Ruin series is addicting as ever. This series and this novel are a must read for any post-apocalyptic fan or anyone who loves a strong female lead. I know this series will remain a favorite for years to come.

About the Author

I can’t write without a hoodie. Yeah, I live it Texas. We all have our quirks.
I majored in accounting in college. I was required to declare a major, but I had no clue what I wanted to do, so I picked accounting because it was the first thing listed in the booklet the counselor gave me. Surprisingly, I graduated with a 4.0 GPA. Go figure.
Forget coffee. Hand over the Red Bull or Monster Khaos and no one gets hurt. Seriously, just set it down and step away. I will turn into a normal human after I guzzle my can of caffeine.
I hate to cook, but love to watch cooking shows on television.
I paint my nails weird colors just to see my husband roll his eyes and make my 9 year-old twin girls giggle. Oh, and mortify my 13 year-old son.
I’m a hopeful romantic and love swoon-worthy endings that keep the butterflies going for days, but I don’t believe a HEA always ends with the boy getting the girl. Sometimes a HEA is an ending we don’t see coming, but is still best for the characters.
I write across genres in the young adult and new adult age groups while eating way too many peanut butter M&Ms (but we’ll keep that second part just between us).
I was born and raised in Flint, Michigan, but now live in a suburb of Houston, TX with my very supportive family, a 125lb rescue “puppy” and a 12lb attack cat, also a rescue animal.
And last, (but certainly not least), I love my family with everything in me. Everything I am, is theirs. There are no words in any language known to man to describe my love for them. They are my center.

I’d love to hear from you. So drop me an email! Let’s chat. You tell me what you like in books, what you’d like to see happen in the writing community, what type of books you like to see more of…less of—I want to hear it all! So tell me, please. Because the one thing I wish I could put on my list, but I still haven’t figured out how to do, is mind-reading. But don’t tell my kids. I still have them fooled. :)

My Thoughts:
I love zombies, and they are my favorite supernatural creature most of the time. I have to say I usually love book set after a zombie outbreak and how the survivors cope. I mean come on, I am an obsessed Walking Dead, so that should explain everything. I like the premise of this book, and I am putting it down on my TBR list.

My Review of AlibiZ
AlibiZ is powerful sequels to the action packed RecruitZ, and trust me the action did not stop with RecruitZ. The discoveries at the end of RecruitZ had me dying to read AlibiZ and it did not disappoint. The is action around every corner, and new revelations made just about as often. There is so much packed into AlibiZ and yet I still feel like I need more. That is a beauty of Karice Bolton’s writing, there is always a need for more story. The story no matter how action packed or shoved full of details never feels overstuffed or complicated.

Rebekah has really grow since I first met her at the beginning of RecruitZ and she really takes on a leadership role in AlibiZ. After all the revelations of RecruitZ, her mission has shifted from just her own tragedy to saving the Afterworld from the corruption and evil that has seemed to grow in the wake of the outbreak. She obviously cannot do this alone, and Preston and her friends are right there besides her trying to take back their world.

I always like the friendship and potential relationship between Rebekah and Preston, and AlibiZ has me rooting for them even more. I like the little bright spots of their jokes and flirtations in the middle of some of the dark incidents going on around them. I think Preston is a good influence on Rebekah and keeps her from retreating to far into her own head.

While some of the questions I had from RecruitZ were answered, so many more were created, especially in the last few pages on AlibiZ. I guess I will just be impatiently waiting for Karice to work her magic and release UprisingZ . If the title is any indication, it is going to be even more action packed.

But strange, monstrous ravens are tracking the remaining survivors, food is becoming scarce, gasoline is running short, and people are becoming suicidal, making survival almost impossible.
And the Pestas are growing bolder. Somehow, their numbers are growing.
The further north they go, the harder it becomes to ignore the signs that they’ve made a fatal mistake. Kat must face the impossible truth that there is no escape, there is no safe haven, and their worst nightmares don’t come close to their new reality.

 About the Author

My Thoughts: I loved World of Ash, I have been sitting here waiting for more in the Ash and Ruin Trilogy. I want to see more of what happened to Kat and Dylan but from that synopsis it is not going to anything good. I know that even with the dark premise, Time of Ruin is going to be epic story from Shauna Granger.

I want to hear what you think!
