She must disguise herself to stay alive, using ancient shape-shifting magic, until her new master has selected his three wishes.
But when the King of the Jinn offers Zahra a chance to be free of her lamp forever, she seizes the opportunity—only to discover she is falling in love with Aladdin. When saving herself means betraying him, Zahra must decide once and for all: is winning her freedom worth losing her heart?
As time unravels and her enemies close in, Zahra finds herself suspended between danger and desire in this dazzling retelling of Arabian Nights from acclaimed author Jessica Khoury.
Why am I waiting?
A retelling of the story of Aladdin with a female genie! I have to read this one, and not just because Aladdin was one of my favorite Disney movies growing up. I like that this is also a love story and that Zahra has a tough choice to make. I am excited to see how Jessica Khoury recreates the story of Aladdin and the Magic Lamp.

The eagerly-awaited conclusion to the Scarlet trilogy delivers another action-packed and romance-filled adventure.

Imprisoned by Prince John for months, Scarlet finds herself a long way from Nottinghamshire. After a daring escape from the Prince's clutches, she learns that King Richard’s life is in jeopardy, and Eleanor of Aquitaine demands a service Scarlet can’t refuse: spy for her and help bring Richard home safe. But fate—and her heart—won’t allow her to stay away from Nottinghamshire for long, and together, Scarlet and Rob must stop Prince John from going through with his dark plans for England. They can not rest until he’s stopped, but will their love be enough to save them once and for all?
Why am I waiting?
The Scarlet series by A.C. Gaughen has been one of my favorites since I first picked up Scarlet a little over 3 years ago. I love the turn the story took in Lady Thief, and I just have to know if Scarlet and Rob ever get to be together and get their happily ever after. I love the way A.C. Gaughen takes the Robin Hood legend and retells it is such an action-packed way.

Waiting on Wednesday: Of Monsters and Madness

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we cannot wait to get our hands on.

 I am waiting on:

Of Monsters and Madness
Title: Of Monsters and Madness
Author: Jessica Verday
Publisher: EgmontUSA
Publication Date: September 9, 2014
Genre: Young Adult, Gothic Horror, Retelling,
A romantic, historical retelling of classic Gothic horror featuring Edgar Allan Poe and his character Annabel Lee, from a New York Times best-selling author.
Summoned to her father's home in 1820's Philadelphia, a girl finds herself in the midst of a rash of gruesome murders in which he might be implicated. She is torn romantically between her father's assistants-one kind and proper, one mysterious and brooding-who share a dark secret and may have more to do with the violent events than they're letting on.
Why am I waiting?
I loved Edgar Allen Poe growing up, I am very interested to see this re-telling of Annabel Lee. It sounds like it is going to be dark and mysterious, and just up my alley as someone who loves Edgar Allen Poe. I hope it lives up to my expectations.
