is either not super far
or actually quite close…
It is a time of chaotic hormones.
Two nerdy gents
home for winter break
have discovered a female gamer
at a midnight release.
During the break,
the gamer trio manages
to reveal the game’s secret boss,
a hidden enemy
with enough power to destroy
anything in its path.
Pursued by other gamers
who want to be the first
to beat this boss,
George and Katie race to level up,
and, in so doing, restore decency
and sexual activity to their personal galaxy…

About the Author
Sarah Daltry:
Sarah Daltry writes about the regular people who populate our lives. She’s written works in various genres – romance, erotica, fantasy, horror. Genre isn’t as important as telling a story about people and how their lives unfold. Sarah tends to focus on YA/NA characters but she’s been known to shake it up. Most of her stories are about relationships – romantic, familial, friendly – because love and empathy are the foundation of life. It doesn’t matter if the story is set in contemporary NY, historical Britain, or a fantasy world in the future – human beings are most interesting in the ways they interact with others. This is the principle behind all of Sarah’s stories.
Sarah has spent most of her life in school, from her BA and MA in English and writing to teaching both at the high school and college level. She also loves studying art history and really anything because learning is fun.
When Sarah isn’t writing, she tends to waste a lot of time checking Facebook for pictures of cats, shooting virtual zombies, and simply staring out the window.
She has written several books, most notably Bitter Fruits, an urban fantasy in the Eden’s Fall series, and the Flowering series, including Forget Me Not, Lily of the Valley, and Star of Bethlehem.

Pete Clark:
Pete Clark likes writing, animals, potato chips, and cheese. Midnight Riders is his first published novel, although he can also proudly say he finally finished Helix Crashing, the fantasy novel he has been working on for over a decade. In addition, he has written Across the Barren Landscape, a collection of linked Western short stories. He also writes plays, both dramatic and comedic.
When he is not writing, Pete tends to ignore everyone around him and obsess over sports.

Excerpt from Fallen
“So you’re warning me away from you?” I was appalled. “Then why are you doing this…guarding me at all? Why the torment? Why watch over me when you know that…that we should be more?” I felt on the verge of tears, which amazed me. How could pain be so sharp in the afterlife? “Answer me, Eran. Why?”
He sighed. “Because it is my job.”
I gasped, more offended than I’d ever been. “I’m a job to you?” I stared at him and waited for his head to rise but he refused to look at me.
“Yes,” he said weakly, defeated. His beautiful, rugged voice released as a whimper and the pain inside me grew. “You are just a job.”
I didn’t think it was possible but the emptiness I’d felt with Eran being gone those many weeks held no comparison to the magnitude of what I was experiencing right now.
I felt as if I had been gutted.
“No…” I shook my head. “I don’t believe you because you see, Eran, I can feel your emotions run through me. Whether you want to admit them or not, I know how you feel about me.”
Stunned, his head jerked up, his brilliant blue-green eyes drilling into mine. “You feel me too? How can that be?”
“I don’t know. But I do know that I feel in you the same emotions I have.”
He groaned and turned away. “That’s not possible…” he muttered, pausing. When he spoke again his voice was strained, determined. I drew in a breath as the intensity of these emotions ran through me. “It doesn’t matter. I won’t let this happen. This will not happen…I will not let us be together.”
“Because you are my guardian? Then let me make it easy on us…You’re fired.”
“It doesn’t work that way, Magdalene,” he said, quieter but still resolute.
“I didn’t want you to watch over me, Eran. I never asked for it.”
As if he’d become an entirely new person, his reply was flat and detached. “You’re a messenger. You require a guardian. It’s as simple as that.”
“Then we’ve just solved the issue, didn’t we?” I said causing him to finally look up. “This will be my last message. It’s from me to you…goodbye Eran.”
Turning swiftly, I walked away just before the tears came.

My Thoughts: First off, the cover for Blood Crown is beautiful. I also like the idea of androids versus human, because lets face it I grew up watching Terminator. I also like the idea of star-crossed fighters from different sides having to come together to fight against the Mind even if they do not trust each other.

I want to hear what do you think!

Sometimes you can’t see the storm coming until it’s too late...
Severe Storm Warning Tip #1:Be alert to changing weather conditions. Look for approaching storms.
Severe Storm Warning Tip #2:If you see approaching storms or any of the danger signs, be prepared to take shelter immediately.
Severe Storm Warning Tip #3:They may strike quickly, with little or no warning.
Situated just outside of Oklahoma City, Calumet County is divided into two drastically different communities: Hope’s Grove and Summit Bluffs. One is the small backward town where dirt roads lead the way to field parties and railroad tracks. And the other, a sprawling suburb where paved drives lead to the landscaped lawns of the wealthy and overprivileged.
For five teenagers smack in the middle of Tornado Alley, summer is heating up fast. The winds of change are blurring the invisible line that divides the rich and the rural.
One has a secret. One has a crush. One has been lying. One will get caught. And one might not make it out alive.
They’re from two different worlds…but one summer is about to change everything.

About the Authors

Whether you believe in destiny, divine intervention, or just plain ol' dumb luck, several things happened in 2013 that caused E. Lee’s and C. Quinn’s paths to cross. It may have been that the stars aligned perfectly or maybe it was just that their small town roots and country girl attitudes were magnetically drawn to one another. Despite geography keeping them apart—Lee in Illinois and Quinn in Alabama—they did. Thanks to three-hour phone calls, ridiculous amounts of online chats, and umpteen Google Docs—Storm Warning is the first book in their edgy new Young Adult series, Broken Heartland.

World of Ash Blog Tour: Review and Giveaway

Welcome to the World of Ash Blog Tour! Today I have a review and tour-wide giveaway. There is so much stuff going on with this tour, so make sure to check out the whole schedule by clicking on the banner above.

About the Book
Title: World of Ash
Author: Shauna Granger
Publication Date: December 2, 2013
There are two inherent truths in the world: life as we know it is over, and monsters are real.
The Pestas came in the night, spreading their pox, a deadly plague that decimated the population. Kat, one of the unlucky few who survived, is determined to get to her last living relative and find shelter from the pox that continues to devastate the world. When it mutates and becomes airborne, Kat is desperate to avoid people because staying alone might be her only chance to stay alive.
That is, until she meets Dylan. Dylan, with his easy smile and dark, curly hair, has nowhere to go and no one to live for. He convinces Kat there can be safety in numbers, that they can watch out for each other. So the unlikely couple set off together through the barren wasteland to find a new life – if they can survive the roaming Pestas, bands of wild, gun-toting children, and piles of burning, pox-ridden bodies.
About the Author
Like so many other writers, Shauna grew up as an avid reader, but it was in high school that she realized she
wanted to be a writer. Five years ago, Shauna started work on her Elemental Series. She released the first installment, Earth, on May 1, 2011 and has since released four sequels, with the series coming to an end with Spirit. She is currently hard at work on a new Urban Fantasy series, staring a spunky witch with a smush-faced cat named Artemis.

My Review of World of Ash
In World of Ash the world has been lost to a highly contagious plague which wiped out most of the population. While it could have been a normal plague, it was not, the Pestas caused the pox. Dark shrouded figures that spread the deadly mutated form of small pox through touch. Shortly after that, it became airborne, and the government started bombing highly infected cities. With the structure gone, pox everywhere, and people turning on people, it is a very dangerous world to try to survive.

Kat barely escaped Los Angeles before it was wiped out by containment bombs. On her own for six months, her only goal is to survive and to try to make it to Washington. When Dylan stumbled upon her, she goes against every instinct not to trust people and allows him to accompany her on her journey to her Uncle’s house. Dylan having lost everything and everyone is just grateful not to be alone.

Before the pox, all Kat cared about was her appearance, morning latte, and her boyfriend. Now she only cares about food, water, and safe shelter away from other people. This has made her tougher, and a survivor. This change is one of the reasons I like her as a character. Instead of just giving up, she pushes forward and fights to live. The biggest reason I liked her as a character is that when everyone else is giving up their humanity for survival, Kat still cares even if she thinks or act like she does not. Dylan has been sheltered from most of the atrocities and he is a bit naïve about the way the world is now. With his innocence, he is a great balance for Kat.

The World of Ash is a fantastic addition to the post-apocalyptic genre. I enjoyed every moment of the novel, and I am curious to see what Kat and Dylan’s story holds next. I am also dying for more information about the Pestas, and why the pox started in the first place. I am really hoping for another book to add more to the story. I will defiantly be looking out for another installment.
