About the Book
Title: On the Rocks
Author: Alyssa Rose Ivy
Series: Mixology #2
Publication Date: May 29, 2014
Genres: New Adult, Romance,
Love is best served on the rocks.
My roommates look really good naked. At least one of them does. I’m sure the other one does too, but I haven’t seen him without his pants on. Living with two guys wasn't something I’d ever considered, but the opportunity fell in my lap, and I’d have been crazy to turn it down.
College went by in a great big blur leaving me with less of a direction than I had going in. Add in a family that wanted nothing to do with me, and my post-college plans were less than clear. What’s a girl to do when she has nowhere else to turn? She moves to the Outer Banks and learns to bartend. After all, it was my horrible bartending skills that led me to my roommate’s bed and into his heart.

About the Author
Alyssa Rose Ivy is a New Adult and Young Adult author who loves to weave stories with romance and
a southern setting. Although raised in the New York area, she fell in love with the South after moving to New Orleans for college. After years as a perpetual student, she turned back to her creative side and decided to write. She lives in North Carolina with her husband and two young children, and she can usually be found with a cup of coffee in her hand.

My Review of On the Rocks
On the Rocks yet another perfect novel from Alyssa Rose Ivy, seriously at this point I do not think Alyssa Rose Ivy could write a bad book if she tried. As the second book in the Mixology series, I was happy to see Maddy and Colin again, and watch them move forward with their lives. I also loved watching Macon discover there may be more out there then random hookups. I also loved Carly in Shaken Not Stirred, and I love that she got her own novel and love story.

Alyssa Rose Ivy has a talent for New Adult Contemporary Romances that are both funny and sincere. I love this new series. I also think I have a penchant to consume a bit more alcohol, because sometimes I really want to try some of the cocktails mentioned. Maybe I need a real life Maddy to figure out my signature drink for me, but I digress. I love the summery beach feeling of On the Rocks, it is the perfect mood setter for the upcoming summer!

Carly is trying to escape the family drama back home, and she decides to crash at her brother’s place. While Carly is looking for escape, Macon is looking for a purpose for his life. This is why I really love their relationship, because they are both at a crossroads in their lives, but somehow they give each other purpose. I also like that On the Rocks is told from both Carly and Macon’s points of view, giving readers a complete view of the story, and the relationship between Carly and Macon. I also like that the small mentions of Brody’s family had me squealing because as Gavin’s brother, he really had me fondly reminiscing about the Clayton Falls series.

I have said it before and I will say it again, Alyssa Rose Ivy is a genius storyteller, and I cannot get enough of her books. I am seriously dying to read her next release, which is Hazards of Sex on the Beach part of her Hazard series releasing at the end of July. I believe I have read every single book ever released by Alyssa and I plan on reading every one released in the future. As an author, Alyssa Rose Ivy can do no wrong in my eyes.
