Cover Reveal: AfterLife

Cover Reveal
AfterLife by Zoe Dawson
The Starbuck Chronicles #1
Expected Publication: January 20, 2014
 Cover Design by Jessica Allain
Series Overview
The fine thread between reality and the fantastical has snapped. The mortal and supernatural must learn to co-exist in post-reality Minneapolis/St. Paul where video games leak monsters into the night, demons roam, thirsting for more than just blood, people are not who or what they seem and a diabolical evil plots and plans to devour the world.
AfterLife
Lily Starbuck’s day doesn’t start well with blood on the horizon and a grumpy werewolf who refuses to pay his catering bill. Her day only gets worse when she finds out that her business partner in their catering company has embezzled all their available cash.
Lily can get no answers from her partner when she finds her dead. That’s the least of her worries—her landlord is evicting her, she’s being hounded by the Fairy Dust Administration (FDA) who suspects that her partner was dealing in illegal dust, and Lily’s pissed off their werewolf supplier.
With Lily’s very livelihood in jeopardy, she has no choice but to discover who killed her partner and try to track down the cash. She has only Spocko, a small, wizened gnome with just a bit of gremlin blood in him that makes him cantankerous at best to depend on, but he often goes invisible on her. Clues lead her to an open case being investigated by Otherworld Security (O.S.) and the tough O.S. Warden, shapeshifter, Tam Darkwood. And, at the outset of the investigation, a tiny, mythical fire-breathing, red dragon joins her as her trusty (and opinionated) sidekick, Kindle.
It seems a rogue mage has created a video game that is unwarded and game monsters are being released to terrorize the citizens of the Twin Cities. Trouble is Lily has reason to believe that this mage killed her partner.
The investigation takes an unexpected turn when they are led to influential and powerful Archmage Tarquin Wilding and somehow Lily finds herself embroiled in a sinister shadow Fae plot. With her friends at her side, she tackles dangerous and unpredictable supernaturals and monsters with an “all in a day’s work” attitude.

My Thoughts: First off I love the little dragon, Kindle on the cover. There is a lot going on in this novel, but the idea that a video game is unleashing monsters upon the world is very frightening. I am always up for a good mystery anytime. Beside I just got to know more about the F.D.A. (Fairy Dust Administration).

I want to hear what do you think!

Cover Reveal: Love and Cupcakes

COVER REVEAL
Love and Cupcakes by Susan Bishop Crispell
Adult Romance
Releasing January 21, 2014
Publisher:

For Jaclyn “Jack” Pace, sensing what sweets people crave is as easy as breathing. But it’s not enough to keep her cupcake bakery in the black. So, when her estranged sister Harper comes back to town with an affinity for making art out of icing—and a past full of secrets—she reluctantly gives Harper a job and a place to crash. As their sisterly relationship begins to thaw, the one with her business partner Graham starts to heat up. Given the legend that says Hollingsworth men will recognize their soul mates at first touch, Jack’s always been resigned to the fact that she’s not his. But when she starts sensing desires that are decidedly not dessert-related, it’ll take all of her magic to set things right with customers and make her own desires come true. Love and Cupcakes is a delightfully sweet and sensual romance from Susan Bishop Crispell.

About the Author

Susan Bishop Crispell is not one of those writers who's been scribbling down stories since she could hold a pencil. She didn't read constantly growing up (blasphemy!), and she can still be found in public without a book tucked into her purse (again with the blasphemy!). She is, however, the kind of writer who lives for the imaginative spark that introduces her to a new character or story idea that pushes her to turn everyday life into something magical. She lives and writes near Wilmington, NC.

My Thoughts: I love the adorableness of the cover, and also I am now having a sugar craving. I love the premise it reminds me of just a little bit of Simple Irresistible with Sarah Michelle Geller. they are not really similar besides the fact that it takes place in a bakery. I am now curious about this story, and have added it to my TBR list.

What are your thoughts?

Three Year Indie-versary with Sarra Cannon!

We are celebrating three years of Indie publishing success with Sarra Cannon, author of the bestselling series the Peachville High Demons. Over the past three years, Sarra has sold over 150,000 copies of her young adult and new adult novels and would like to say thank you to all the fans who made it possible with special book prices, event, news, and giveaways!

Interesting Facts about the Peachville High Demons series

By Sarra Cannon

ñ  When I first started writing Beautiful Demons, the killer was someone completely different. When I got to the end, I gasped in surprise. I seriously had no idea who had killed Tori until the very end of the book.
ñ  I didn't have the series planned out at all. Every time I finished one book, I would start thinking about the next. It's really cool how some details, like the blue butterfly and Harper's demon tattoo, came to mean something really special in the end.
ñ  Demons Forever took me eleven months to write, but that book will always have a special place in my heart because it was the book I was writing when I had my son, Andrew.
ñ  The inspiration for this series actually came from a marathon session of watching the TV show, Veronica Mars. My original idea was to write a series about a young girl who solved murders and mysteries in her town using magic. If you've read the series, you know that's not at all how the series really turned out!
ñ  One of the major themes in this series is TRUST. Just when Harper thinks she knows who she can trust, she finds out she's been betrayed.
ñ  There are 6 parties/dances in the series and something terrible happens at every single one. I think Harper should just stay away from all parties in the future!
ñ  A second series based on this world will start in Spring 2014 and will be told from both Harper and Lea's points-of-view.

Her bestselling Young Adult paranormal series, Peachville High Demons, has sold over 140,000 copies and been featured on Amazon's Top 100 eBooks for Children & Teens. The first book in the series, Beautiful Demons, will be adapted into a graphic novel by Sea Lion Books later this year, and a spin-off series will begin in 2014. Previously homeschooled Camie Ramsey is being shoved into the shark-infested waters of public high school, where even helium filled, penguin bespeckled arm floaties likely won’t help keep her inexperienced, fifteen-year old head above water in that rip current of hormones and emotions.
Camie’s worldly wisdom might be severely lacking (i.e., the closest she’s come to being kissed was sitting too close to the TV whilst Jake Ryan leaned in to give Samantha that fateful 16th birthday kiss), but she does understand her only hope for survival is if she’s thrown some kind of “social” life preserver before she sinks like a freaking rock. However, what will her fate be when she endeavors to flag down the only lifeguard on duty, the enormously popular and ridiculously beautiful Tristan Daniels? The most sought after and virtually most unattainable guy in school who not only makes Camie’s heart flatline on a recurring basis, he’s also the one guy who seemingly doesn’t know she exists.
Feeling like an inept piece of chum that could ultimately be swallowed by Jaws, can Camie get Tristan to rescue her from floundering in the treacherous deep, or is she destined to be Shark Bait?

My Thoughts: I like the cover, it looks like she should be walking on a beach but you can see the city blurred in the background. It is a very sharp looking cover with the simple white with purple and pink accents, it really makes the cover stand out.
