Waiting on Wednesday: Reign of Shadows

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we cannot wait to get our hands on.

 I am waiting on:

Reign of Shadows
Title: Reign of Shadows
Author: Sophie Jordan
Publisher: Harper Teen
Publication Date: February 9, 2016
Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy,
Seventeen years ago, an eclipse cloaked the kingdom of Relhok in perpetual darkness. In the chaos, an evil chancellor murdered the king and queen and seized their throne. Luna, Relhok’s lost princess, has been hiding in a tower ever since. Luna’s survival depends on the world believing she is dead.
But that doesn’t stop Luna from wanting more. When she meets Fowler, a mysterious archer braving the woods outside her tower, Luna is drawn to him despite the risk. When the tower is attacked, Luna and Fowler escape together. But this world of darkness is more treacherous than Luna ever realized.
With every threat stacked against them, Luna and Fowler find solace in each other. But with secrets still unspoken between them, falling in love might be their most dangerous journey yet.
With lush writing and a star–crossed romance, Reign of Shadows is Sophie Jordan at her best.
Why am I waiting?
I have to confess I have yet to read a book by Sophie Jordan even if her books are defiantly on my TBR list. This one sounds very interesting and I am always up for a well written star-crossed romance. I am curious to know if Luna win back her kingdom. It is defiantly on my TBR list and I think I may have to move it to the top of the stack when it comes out.

Strange and Ever After Book Blitz:

Welcome to the Strange and Ever After Book Blitz!

About the Book
Title: Strange and Ever After
Author: Susan Dennard
Series: Something Strange and Deadly #3
Publisher: HarperTeen
Publication Date: July 22, 2014
Genres: Young Adult, Steampunk, Fantasy
In the conclusion to the trilogy that Publishers Weekly called “a roaring—and addictive—gothic world,” Eleanor Fitt must control her growing power, face her feelings for Daniel, and confront the evil necromancer Marcus...all before it’s too late.
He took her brother, he took her mother, and now, Marcus has taken her good friend Jie. With more determination than ever to bring this sinister man to justice, Eleanor heads to the hot desert streets of nineteenth-century Egypt in hopes of ending this nightmare. But in addition to her increasingly tense relationships with Daniel, Joseph, and her demon, Oliver, Eleanor must also deal with her former friend, Allison, who has curiously entangled herself in Eleanor’s mission.
With the rising dead chomping at her every move and Jie’s life hanging in the balance, Eleanor is convinced that her black magic will see her through to the bitter end. But there will be a price. Though she and the Spirit Hunters have weathered every battle thus far, there will be consequences to suffer this time—the effects of which will be irreversible. And when it’s over, only some will be able to live a strange and ever after.
Susan Dennard will leave readers breathless and forever changed in the concluding pages of this riveting ride.

About the Author
Susan Dennard is a writer turned marine biologist turned writer again. Strange and Ever After is the
conclusion to her trilogy, which includes A Darkness Strange and Lovely and Something Strange and Deadly. Among the traits she shares with her heroine Eleanor are a weakness for Shakespeare quotes, a healthy appetite for baked goods, and an insatiable curiosity. Sadly, Susan does not get to wear a corset or wave a parasol on a daily basis.

Waiting on Wednesday: The Uninvited

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we cannot wait to get our hands on.
 I am waiting on:
Uninvited (Uninvited, #1)
Title: The Uninvited
Author: Sophie Jordan
Series: Uninvited #1
Publisher: HarperTeen
Publication Date: January 28, 2014
The Scarlet Letter meets Minority Report in bestselling author Sophie Jordan's chilling new novel about a teenage girl who is ostracized when her genetic test proves she's destined to become a murderer.
When Davy Hamilton's tests come back positive for Homicidal Tendency Syndrome (HTS)-aka the kill gene-she loses everything. Her boyfriend ditches her, her parents are scared of her, and she can forget about her bright future at Juilliard. Davy doesn't feel any different, but genes don't lie. One day she will kill someone.
Only Sean, a fellow HTS carrier, can relate to her new life. Davy wants to trust him; maybe he's not as dangerous as he seems. Or maybe Davy is just as deadly.
The first in a two-book series, Uninvited tackles intriguing questions about free will, identity, and human nature. Steeped in New York Times bestselling author Sophie Jordan's trademark mix of gripping action and breathless romance, this suspenseful tale is perfect for fans of James Patterson, Michelle Hodkin, and Lisa McMann.
Why am I Waiting?
I like the idea of exploring the idea of DNA verse Free Will. It is an interesting to explore if something says you are a killer, do you actually turn into a killer. I am curious to see where Sophie Jordan goes with this story.

My Thoughts: I like the green and yellow color on the cover, and I also like how well the cover for Push goes with the cover for Rush. The characters running out of the letters also looks pretty cool.

Harper Teen is offering an ARC of PUSH as the prize, which will be mailed to the winner early 2014, as soon as ARCs become available. (US and Canada only)
