Follow Friday #11 and TGIF #4

FF 2012 Feature & Follow #80

Feature and Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read

Q: What would your prefer: reading your favorite book over and over again until you got sick of it OR reading 100s of mediocre books? And why?
I think I would rather read my favorite book over and over again until I was completely sick of it. Simply, because reading 100s of mediocre books could never live up to my favorite book. Now if I had to pick one of my favorite books, and only read that one, that would be the really tough decision. Each of my favorites have affected or made changes in my life in someway or another. For Example, Harry Potter, whose life didn't change even in a small way after reading that series. It is the series that got me back into reading, and it was just one of those series that my entire family read. My mom, my sister, even my brother who does not read. I even got my husband who has never read a book in his life hooked on Harry Potter, and now he is an avid reader who steals my books all the time.

Wow, that kind of turned into a ramble, anyways simply Favorite/Greatness over Mediocre any day.

TGIF is hosted by Ginger at Greads
The purpose is to answer the question for the week, and re-cap the weeks posts.
It is a great way to get to know other bloggers.

Q.  Love Stories: What are some of your favorite fictional love stories?

Favorite fictional love stories, that is a tough question. I would have to say I love the relationships between the four main characters in Morganville Vampires. Even with the dangers the town run by vampire posses, and Michael himself being a vampire, their friendship is solid as is the love between Michael and Eve and Claire and Shane. There is no love triangles, and they are not epic romances, but they are simple. I think I really like that about Morganville Vampire series. I really need to read Last Breath, but I hope that has not changed.

Now if we want to go super old school romances, I was always partial to the Frank Hardy and Nancy Drew relationship in the Super Mysteries. I also fan of  Trixie Belden and Jim Frayne in the Trixie Belden series. Besides Dan Morgan was my first fictional crush, always felt sorry for him, because he was the odd man out in the group, and he was the bad boy. Guess I preferred bad boys even at like 11.

I will not spend time on reading Mediocre books too!

Shane and Claire, my fav couple!!!! I love MV series! And you're absolutely right, their relationships are real, no love triangles and dramatic romance.

I often go back to my dilapated copies of JKRowling & Satyajit Ray books, but still the lure of new books wins!

I loved the Trixie Belden books! I was always partial to Brian & Honey over Trixie and Jim. Dan might have been my first fictional crush too! It was either him or Logan from The Babysitters Club. I always felt so bad that Dan never went on any of the gangs adventures.

I would read my favorite book over and over too. Mediocre books just don't cut it for me.

I agree - I do wonder about getting sick of my favourite book, but I just can't bring myself to waste time with mediocre reads.

I would much rather read my favorite books over and over as well. I mean, I like reading new books, but I wouldn't read 100s of mediocre books over my favorites.

I need to read the Morganville Vampires series. Your description of the love story makes me think I should move it up the list. :)

Trixie Belden! I loved Trixie and Jim! But I night have loved Brian and Honey more. But, Ooh, remember Mart and Di? Poor Dan! Trixie was so mean to him when he came to town. Didn't Reagan and Celia get married? Or maybe she married someone else? I should re-read and find out! Poor Ms. Trask needed a BF!
Sorry for the ramble!

I think it's awesome that there are other people that read Trixie Belden! Whenever I mention them no one knows what I'm talking about.

I don't think Reagan married Celia. I think Celia married someone else. Cause didn't they live in a trailer?

I think I'm going to have to reread too!

Celia married Tom the Driver didn't she? I always felt bad for Dan the poor orphan who had to work, while the rest of the group got to go off on adventures.
