MY REVIEW
Being back in the world of The Crescent Chronicles in Focus reminded me why I loved this series in the first place. The world is a realistic environment with a supernatural twist making it unique in its own way. The characters are well written and easy to become attached too. With the setting in New Orleans, which has its own ties to the mystery of the supernatural, it creates a beautiful background for the series. In Focus, more of the supernatural world surround the Pterons is explored, and it just made me want to keep reading as Allie experiences this all for the first time.

Allison is just as fierce and stubborn as she was in Flight. I really admire that Allie holds her own versus caving to Levi and his every request. One thing I do not like to see, and that seems to be more commonplace as of late, is the strong female being independent until she meets her love interest then she becomes a weakling who needs a man for everything. Much to my delight, this does not happen with Allie. She still has her own opinions and refuses to cave to every request made on her by Levi, his family or The Society. I am not saying she never takes Levi’s opinion, but she has a firm grasp on what she wants, and she does not back down. The dynamic between Levi and Allie may not always be the happiest one, but the true feelings for each other are obvious and really make you want to root for them as a couple.

One of my favorite parts of Flight was the friendship formed between Hailey and Allison. I think it gives Allie an outlet for her questions and doubts about the Pteron Society and Levi. Also, Hailey is just a fun character. Starting college also opens Allison and Hailey up to new friendships that really help both of them grow, and enjoy life as a college student.

For fans of paranormal romance, Focus and The Crescent Chronicles are a must read. The Crescent Chronicles is yet another one of my favorite series by the brilliance that is Alyssa Rose Ivy. Focus is beautifully written and has plenty of action to keep readers craving more.
